FG Funnels Review: An Honest Look From Someone Who Builds Inside It

An honest FG Funnels review: pros, cons, real costs, implementation bonuses, and the handoffs that break whether you switch or not.

You’re not really asking whether FG Funnels is good software.

You’re asking whether it will fix the thing that’s currently broken — the leads that go quiet, the follow-up you’re still sending by hand, the buyer who kept getting sales emails for a product she’d already paid for.

That’s a different question, and most reviews won’t answer it. They’ll list features and hand you a discount code.

Disclosure, up front: this page contains affiliate links. If you sign up for FG Funnels through them, I earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

I’m telling you that up front instead of in grey text at the bottom, because I want you to hold the rest of this review against it.

Here’s what I’d ask you to notice as you read: I’m going to spend more words on who shouldn’t buy this than on who should. There’s a section below telling you to go straight to HighLevel and skip FG entirely if you’re technical enough. There’s a six-step test that will tell some of you that switching platforms is a waste of three months.

I have a real relationship with this community — I’ve worked with Julie Chenell and inside this ecosystem for years. I’d rather keep that than convert you.

THE VERDICT, UP FRONT

FG Funnels is a good platform, and it will not fix your business.

It’s genuinely capable software with a real community around it. If your business runs on inquiries, calls, nurture, offers, or memberships, and you want those steps living close enough together to actually connect — it’s a strong option and I’ve built plenty inside it.

But almost every person who asks me about it is hoping the platform is the answer. It usually isn’t. The thing leaking money is the handoff between steps, and a handoff doesn’t fix itself because you moved it to a new address.

More on how to tell which one you’ve got below.

Why you should care what I think

I’ve worked with FG Funnels and HighLevel for years — forms, tags, triggers, pipelines, nurture sequences, and the unglamorous work of testing a customer journey end to end to find where it silently breaks.

I also worked with Julie Chenell and supported Funnel Gorgeous’s own membership migration. That’s the project where you learn what a platform is really made of: not the page builder, but whether an existing member can still log in on Tuesday morning after everything moved over the weekend. Imports that “complete successfully” and journeys that actually work are two different things.

Before that I ran marketing operations for Postmodern Jukebox — 80,000+ subscribers, weekly releases, global tour routing — and I’ve consulted with roughly 100 businesses on their systems since.

You can read Julie’s testimonial and see the work in my sales funnel portfolio.

What FG Funnels actually is

FG Funnels is Funnel Gorgeous’s version of HighLevel. HighLevel is the engine underneath; Funnel Gorgeous wraps it in their design sensibility, their education, and their support.

You get funnel and website building, a CRM, calendars, two-way messaging, courses and communities, and an automation builder — in one login.

Current inclusions and terms are on the official FG Funnels site. I’m deliberately not quoting prices here, because platform pricing changes and a stale number in a review is worse than no number.

The capability that matters isn’t any single feature. It’s this: someone raises their hand, their information lands somewhere real, the right follow-up starts, and what they do next changes what happens after that.

That last clause is where most businesses are broken. Hold onto it.

What I like

The whole customer path can live in one place

A landing page is one frame of a much longer film. When contacts, calendars, and follow-up share an environment, you have a genuine shot at connecting the sequence instead of taping four tools together and hoping the webhook holds.

Fewer handoffs between vendors means fewer places to spring a leak. That’s a real structural advantage, not a marketing claim.

The design work saves you from the blank page

The templates are legitimately nice, and Funnel Gorgeous has taste — which is not something you can say about most template libraries.

You’ll still have to bring the offer, the proof, and the next action. A beautiful page converts when the visitor knows what to do and the wiring behind the button carries them forward. Design gets you to the starting line faster. It doesn’t run the race.

The community is part of what you’re buying

Office hours, training, an active member base. If you intend to learn the platform and own your system, that’s worth real money and it’s the main thing you’re paying for over raw HighLevel.

Just be clear about what a community can and can’t do. It’ll answer “how do I build this workflow.” It won’t tell you which workflows your business should have.

The tradeoffs I want you to walk in knowing

Building pages and building automation are different jobs

You’ll be fine with the page builder in a weekend. Automation is a different skill.

A workflow needs a trigger, the right actions in the right order, exception paths, and a stop condition. It needs an answer for what happens when a contact who’s already in it submits the form a second time. Most broken automations I open aren’t broken because someone built them wrong — they’re broken because nobody defined what should happen at the edges.

If you already know you won’t have time to learn that, budget for help from day one rather than after the first thing quietly fails for six weeks.

Migration costs you before it pays you

Contacts, consent records, tags, in-flight sequences, member access, links, payment processes. Every one of those needs a plan.

An import that finishes successfully tells you nothing about whether a paying customer can log in, or whether a buyer stopped receiving the pitch for the thing she already bought.

My rule: map one complete customer journey, build it, test it as a real human, then move the rest. Keep a written record of what moved, what stayed, and which system now owns each piece of information. That document is worth more than the migration itself.

One login does not mean zero handoffs

You may keep WordPress, an outside checkout, your accounting software, a separate delivery tool. Each of those junctions needs a defined rule.

And inside a single platform, a form and a workflow can sit ten feet apart with nothing connecting them. Same login. Same account. No trigger. The lead lands and nothing happens.

Changing platforms won’t resolve a process you haven’t decided on yet. Decide what should happen first. Then configure the tool to do it.

What it really costs

The subscription is the smallest number on the list. Budget for four things:

  • The subscription — the plan and billing terms actually available to you now, not a legacy promo someone screenshotted in 2023.
  • Usage — messaging and metered services scale with your actual activity, not with your plan.
  • Implementation — migration, configuration, copy, integrations, and testing. This is usually the largest line and the one people leave out.
  • Ownership — who notices when a workflow fails, who updates it, who keeps the documentation true.

Then subtract only the tools you can genuinely cancel. Not the ones you intend to cancel. A subscription you’re still paying through a six-month migration is still on the bill.

What you get if you buy through my link

Most FG Funnels bonuses are a template pack and a Facebook group. Things that help you build faster, which is not your problem — nobody’s business is stalled because they couldn’t find a nice opt-in page.

Your problem is going to be the wiring. So that’s what I’m giving you.

1. The Nurture Sequence Vault (normally paid)

Written email sequences for the sequences most people never get around to building: lead nurture, post-booking, post-purchase, no-show recovery, and re-engagement. Written to load directly into FG Funnels — not converted from another platform, not full of merge tags that break.

2. A 30-minute Wiring Call

Once your account is open, we get on a call and map your first complete customer journey — capture, nurture, booking, purchase, delivery, and what happens when something goes wrong. You leave with the actual build order. Not a strategy session; a wiring diagram.

3. My Revenue Engine Starter Checklist

The exact sequence I follow when I set up a new FG account for a client, including the six things almost everyone forgets — and the two settings that silently break follow-up if you don’t change them on day one.

How to claim it: sign up through my link, forward me your receipt at kristi@kieffermedia.com, and I’ll send the Vault immediately and a booking link for the call.

Fair warning: the call is real time on my calendar, so this is capped. If it’s closed when you get here, you’ll get the Vault and the checklist and I’ll tell you straight.

Who should buy it — and who should absolutely not

Buy it if: your business runs on inquiries, appointments, nurture, offers, or memberships; you want those connected; and you have either the time to learn it or the budget to have it built.

Don’t buy it if:

  • You need a website and nothing else. This is enormous overkill.
  • Your current stack already runs a reliable process. “Reliable” is doing the work in that sentence — see the test below before you answer.
  • You’re hoping a new dashboard will clarify an offer you haven’t finished defining. It won’t. It’ll give you a beautiful place to be confused.

If you have complex ecommerce, unusual reporting requirements, or specific course-delivery needs, write your must-haves down and verify each one in a live demo. A long feature list is not proof that your particular requirement is handled.

FG Funnels vs. the alternatives

vs. GoHighLevel: FG Funnels is HighLevel with Funnel Gorgeous’s design, education, support, and account structure layered on. You’re paying for the layer.

I earn a commission on FG and nothing on HighLevel direct, so take this accordingly: if you’re technically confident, comfortable in an automation builder, and don’t want the community, go direct. You’ll pay less for the same engine. The layer is worth it if you want taste and support built in — which describes most of the people who ask me. It doesn’t describe all of them.

vs. ClickFunnels: Don’t compare feature grids. Take one real customer journey — opt-in, purchase, follow-up, delivery — and demo it end to end in both, including every tool that has to stay outside the platform. Whichever one makes that journey easier to maintain wins.

vs. keeping ActiveCampaign or Klaviyo: Inventory the segmentation and automation you actually depend on. Then verify how each piece survives a move — especially suppressions, exclusions, and customer status. Consolidation is worth doing when it makes the operation simpler to run. Fewer logos on your expense report is a nice side effect, not a reason.

The test that tells you whether it’s the platform or the plumbing

This is the part I’d actually do before you spend a dollar. Run your existing setup through it as if you were a customer. Use a real email address you can check.

  1. Capture. Submit your own form. Does the contact arrive with the source and the details you need — or does it show up as a nameless entry from “direct”?
  2. Follow-up. Does the intended sequence start, exactly once, with a clear next step?
  3. Booking. Once they book, does the follow-up change — or do they keep receiving invitations to schedule a call that’s already on your calendar?
  4. Purchase. Does a completed payment update their status and stop the sales sequence?
  5. Delivery. Does the customer get access and instructions, and does the human responsible know they’re on the hook?
  6. Exceptions. What happens on a cancellation, a failed payment, a duplicate submission, a broken integration? If the answer is “I’d notice eventually,” that’s the leak.

If you fail steps 1 through 6 on your current platform, you will fail them on FG Funnels too. The failures aren’t features of the software. They’re decisions nobody has made yet.

That’s the whole thing. A platform can be excellent while the plumbing between it and the rest of your business is missing. Money doesn’t leak out of the funnel. It leaks out of the seams between the funnel and everything else.

So, is FG Funnels worth it?

Yes — for a business that runs on relationships and follow-up, and that walks in with an implementation plan.

But run the six-step test first. If you passed, you don’t need a new platform; you need a better offer or more traffic, and switching tools will cost you three months for nothing. If you failed, now you know exactly what’s broken, and you can decide whether to fix it where you are or fix it somewhere new.

Either way, the goal isn’t a prettier dashboard. It’s a business that follows through without you.

Find out where yours is leaking

If you ran the six-step test and something failed — or you couldn’t finish it because you weren’t sure what should happen — that’s what the Revenue Engine Teardown is for.

Ninety minutes. I go through your forms, emails, follow-up, and handoffs the way a customer experiences them, and I find where the path breaks.

You leave with a Leak Map: every break in the journey, what to fix first, and what it’s costing you to leave it. It’s yours whether you hire me to build or not.

$750. And if you go on to a build, every dollar of it comes off the price.

Mention you came from the FG Funnels review, tell me what you’re running now, and tell me where you’re still stepping in by hand. That’s where we’ll start.

FAQ

Is FG Funnels the same as GoHighLevel?

It’s built on HighLevel. Funnel Gorgeous adds design, education, support, and its own account structure on top. Same engine, different wrapper and different community.

Do you get a commission if I sign up?

Yes, through the links on this page, at no additional cost to you. I’ve disclosed it at the top rather than the bottom, and I’ve kept the section telling technical users to skip FG and go direct to HighLevel — which costs me the commission. Judge the review on whether it told you anything a paid ad wouldn’t.

Is there an FG Funnels bonus?

Yes. The Nurture Sequence Vault, a 30-minute wiring call to map your first customer journey, and my setup checklist. Details above. I’ve deliberately made it implementation help rather than more templates, because templates aren’t what stalls people.

Can I move from ActiveCampaign, Klaviyo, or Mailchimp?

Yes, with a plan. Contacts import easily. Suppressions, in-flight sequences, tag logic, and customer status are where migrations actually go wrong.

How long does setup take?

A basic funnel, days. A working Revenue Engine — capture, nurture, booking, purchase, delivery, exceptions, all tested — is a several-week project whether you build it or someone builds it for you.

What if I already have FG Funnels and it isn’t working?

Then you don’t have a platform problem. Run the six-step test above, or book a Teardown and I’ll run it for you.
